I have had 5 neck surgeries following a broken neck in 2001. My mother gave me a buck wheat pillow to see if that would help me get some relief. I was wonderful. A few years later my English Pointer puppy decided it was a wonderful toy and chewed it to pieces...I was in pain during my sleep once again. I found these buck wheat pillows shortly after that and ordered them right away. They are magnificent! I also bought one for my 7 year old who has a neck injury from a car accident. He is now sleeping much better, with less pain when he wakes in the morning. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a spinal injury. It has relieved quite a bit of cervical pain, and it is always nice to have a cool pillow without having to flip it over. It smells of fresh soil when it first arrives, but I found a remedy for that. Put a few drops of your favorite aroma oil on the pillow, or put a cap full of gain fabric softener on a dry rag, then put the pillow and the rag in the dryer on air fluff. Give it about 15 minutes or so and you will have a wonderful fresh smelling pillow.

The only pillow that keeps my neck from kinking up. - C. Clopton - Studio City, CA USA
This is the second buckwheat pillow I've had. I have two injured discs in my neck and would often wake up with a sore or nearly immobile neck. These pillows can be shaped any way you like and they hold the shape all night. I would have liked the option of a pillowcase but it's not hard to insert it into a standard case and tuck in the edges.

i've had a buckwheat pillow of my own for probably 7 years now and i've always loved it. i got married over a year ago and have found my husband creeping over to my pillow in the night and commandeering it. so i decided to get him one for birthday. i have to say i was a little disappointed with this one...the seems to be bigger making it feel more like a bean bag than my beloved buckwheat pillow and the casing around it is pretty flimsy, not the sturdy canvas like material on my own. it's not a bad pillow, my husband enjoys it and doesn't steal mine anymore, but it's just not as quality. it was one of the cheaper pillows (i figured how different could they be?), but in this case i suppose you get what you pay for.
